중독성강한 사운드로 무장한 무대 위의 광대
주어진 라이브 연주 타임 속에서 이만큼 관객들을 열광에 빠트릴 수 있는 밴드는 없다고 단언하는 고고스타는 2008년 EP "GOGO PARTY"로 데뷔, 독창적인 앨범으로 혜성같이 등장해 데뷔와 동시에 그 해 모든 각종 페스티발에 등장하게 된다. 연이어 1집 "Last Show"를 발매하며 당시로서는 국내 음악씬에서 찾아볼 수 없었던 실험적인 악기구성과 사운드로 평론가들의 극찬과 대중들의 신기한 관심속에 충격적인 데뷔를 완수한다. 국내에서는 미미했던 뉴웨이브 리바이벌의 흔적을 남긴 앨범이기도 했다. 중독성 넘치는 디스코 펑크 사운드를 기본으로 하여 온 몸을 휘감은 리듬라인과 탄탄한 멜로디라인이 장점인 이들은 시일이 흐를수록 진화하면서 DEVO나 KRAFTWERK로 대표되는 일렉트로닉 사운드를 흡수, 고고스타의 음악적 진화를 완성시켜 나간다.
2집 "블랙코미디(2011)"로는 세련되고 키치한 음악으로 음악 자체만으로도 팬 층을 흡수하며 점차 고고스타의 팬 층을 늘려나갔고, 화려하고 독창적인 라이브무대로 각종 유수의 록 페스티벌과 이벤트의 섭외 1순위 아티스트로 성장하게 되었다. 2014년 발매한 정규3집 "망가진 밤"은 음악성으로 해외 팬들에게까지 탄탄하게 어필하여 존재감을 더했고, 서태지 단독 공연 NEW YEAR EVE 단독 게스트로 픽업되어 더 다양한 팬 층에게 그들의 라이브를 보여주었다. 2013년 중국 뮤직컨퍼런스 SOTX에 초청되어 Beijing, 다음해인 2014년에 Xian으로 투어를 떠나 한국음악과 밴드문화를 알렸고, 2015년 새 EP "Lovein"을 발표하면서 10월 호주 투어를 시작으로 전세계 팬들에게 좀 더 다가서게 되었다.
한국의 펑크락의 새로운 진화형인 음악, 락음악과 디스코의 절묘한 조우라는 평가를 받아온 고고스타는 트렌드를 좇지 않으면서도 독창적인 음악스타일로 그들만의 음악세계를 창조해내며, 매번 발전하는 퍼포먼스로 늘 변화하는 '현재진행형'에 있다.

GogoStar – a band who is sure to deliver the crowd an absolute frantic party in such a short time given for a set – debuted back in 2008 with the EP “GOGO PARTY”, followed by the first full-length “Last Show”. They adopted then-uncommon “electronica” style into the mainstream media, and after successfully leaving the music critics in awe, GogoStar made their smashing debut. Their aforementioned earlier albums left traces of the New Wave revival that was then so hard to come by in the country; their electrifying rhythms fused with solid melodies, whilst not forgetting their foundations in disco-punk. Evolving day by day, and influenced by the signature electronic sounds by such as DEVO and KRAFTWERK, GogoStar were ever refining their unique sounds.
With their release of their second album “Black Comedy” in 2011, saw more sophisticated and catchy music that created a passionate fanbase, which to this day continues to attract more and more people into the fandom. Since then GogoStar is one of the most wanted artists for different music festivals and events around the country. With the release of their 3rd release “Broken Night” in 2014, their songs were reaching out to the fans overseas, while being cast as the sole opening band for Seotaiji’s New Year’s Eve concert to promote their music to a much wider audience. Finally, GogoStar announced the release of a brand new EP“Lovein”, to mark their international debut. Starting with the Australian tour set for October 2015, GogoStar plans their official introduction to the fans all over the world.
